Data Deletion Request

At Cheq, your data belongs to you. Almost all of your data — including your scan history, favorites, and allergen profile — is stored locally on your own device, never on our servers. You can delete your data at any time, directly and instantly, without needing to contact us.

Quick summary: Cheq does not store your scans or personal preferences on any server. Your data lives on your device. Deleting it is instant and fully in your control.

Option 1 — Delete Your Data In-App (Instant)

You can erase all of your data directly within the app at any time:

  1. Open the Cheq app and go to the Profile tab.
  2. Scroll down to the Account section.
  3. Tap "Reset All Data" to permanently delete your scan history, favorites, allergen profile, and all preferences from your device.
  4. Confirm the action. Your data is erased immediately and cannot be recovered.

Option 2 — Delete Your Account (If You Signed In)

If you signed in with Google or Apple, you can permanently delete your account and all associated data:

  1. Open the Cheq app and go to the Profile tab.
  2. Scroll down to the Account section.
  3. Tap "Delete Account".
  4. Confirm. Your account and all associated data are permanently and irreversibly deleted from our authentication system and your device.

Option 3 — Uninstall the App

Simply uninstalling the Cheq app from your device removes all locally stored data associated with the app.

Option 4 — Request Deletion by Email

If you are unable to use the in-app options, or if you want to confirm that no data associated with your account remains, you can contact us directly. We will process your request and permanently delete any data we may hold (such as authentication records) within 30 days.

What Data Is Affected

The following data is deleted when you use any of the methods above:

Scan history, saved favorites, allergen profile, language and theme preferences, daily scan counters, and — for signed-in users — your authentication account record. Note that scanned images are never stored by us in the first place; they are processed in real time and immediately discarded.
