Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026 · Effective for all users of the Cheq mobile application

Revolis App ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Cheq mobile application ("App," "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App. By downloading, installing, or using Cheq, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

1.3 Camera and Image Data

When you use the scan feature, the App captures an image of the product's ingredient label using your device camera. This image is transmitted securely (via HTTPS/TLS encryption) to Google's Gemini API, a third-party artificial intelligence service, solely for the purpose of reading and analyzing the ingredient text visible on the label.

Important: Scanned images are processed in real-time and are NOT stored on our servers. We do not maintain a database of scanned images. Images are transmitted to the AI service, analyzed, and immediately discarded after the analysis result is returned to your device.

1.4 Information We Do NOT Collect

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for the following purposes:

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing profiling, behavioral targeting, or sale to third parties.

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local-Only Storage

All personal preferences, allergen profiles, scan history, favorites, language settings, and theme preferences are stored exclusively on your device using local on-device storage (AsyncStorage). This data never leaves your device except as described in Section 3.2. We do not operate backend servers, user account databases, or cloud storage systems that contain your personal data.

3.2 Third-Party AI Processing

When you initiate a scan, the captured ingredient label image is transmitted via encrypted HTTPS connection to Google's Gemini API for AI-powered text recognition and ingredient analysis. Google processes this data in accordance with their own privacy policy. We strongly recommend reviewing Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.

3.3 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS/SSL encryption for all API communications, secure coding practices, and regular security reviews. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data during transmission.

4. Third-Party Services

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their respective policies before using the App.

5. Children's Privacy

Cheq is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all user data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over your data at all times:

7. Your Rights

Regardless of your location, you have the right to:

7.1 EEA, UK, and Swiss Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, the right to object to processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

7.2 Turkish Users (KVKK)

If you are located in Turkey, your personal data is protected under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK). You have the right to: learn whether your personal data is processed; request information about processing activities; learn the purpose of processing and whether data is used in accordance with its purpose; know the third parties to whom your data is transferred domestically or abroad; request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data; request deletion or destruction of your data under the conditions set forth in Article 7 of KVKK; request notification of corrections or deletions to third parties; object to any adverse result arising exclusively from automated analysis of your data; and claim compensation for damages arising from unlawful processing of your data.

7.3 California Users (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

8. International Data Transfers

When you scan an ingredient label, image data may be transferred to Google's servers, which may be located outside your country of residence (including but not limited to the United States). These transfers are necessary to provide the core AI-powered functionality of the App. By using the scan feature, you consent to such international data transfers. Where required by applicable law, appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, by providing notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
